The Process
What happens when you book
No mystery, no jargon — here's exactly what happens from the first message to the last word of your ceremony.
The ABCs of working together
Ask
We start with an unhurried conversation — on a call or in person — about how you met, what matters to you, and, crucially, what you don't want (template scripts, clichés, forced audience participation).
Build
I write your ceremony and send it over for you to read, mark up, laugh at, and change anything that doesn't sound right. We will edit and edit until you're happy — nothing will be a surprise on the day.
Celebrate
On the day, I turn up early, calm and organised, so all you have to do is show up and be yourselves. That part I can't write for you — you're already perfect at it.
Discovery call
A free, no-obligation call (or coffee, if you're nearby) to talk through your day, check your date's available, and make sure we get on. There's no pressure here — some couples know within ten minutes, others want to think about it, and that's completely fine.
Booking & date secured
Once you're ready, a £50 deposit secures your date and I stop taking other enquiries for it. The balance isn't due until closer to the day. Popular Saturdays go early, so this is the step worth not sitting on.
Getting to know you
A longer session (in person or video call) where I ask the nosy questions — how you met, what you love about each other, what you absolutely don't want mentioned in front of your nan. This is where your ceremony actually comes from.
First draft
I write your ceremony and send it over well ahead of the day, so there's time to read it properly — not skim it the week before.
Edits, together
You mark up anything that doesn't sound right, doesn't sound like you, or just doesn't sound funny enough. We go back and forth until it does. Nothing is locked in until you're both happy.
Final run-through
A last check-in shortly before the day — running order, readers, timings, any last changes, and answering whatever's still on your mind.
The day itself
I arrive early, calm, and already knowing exactly what's happening and when — so you don't have to think about any of it. You just need to turn up and say the words.
Choosing Alison to lead our wedding ceremony was one of the best decisions we made.

Curious what it's actually like to work together?
Read what past couples have said, or just get in touch and ask me directly — I'd rather answer honestly than oversell it.
